Proper Nutrition
It is important to look at the nutritional content of your food, making sure that you get all the micro and macronutrients that you need in a day. In fact, a severe lack of certain macro-nutrients, like protein, has been shown to weaken the immune system and increase the risk of becoming ill (Batool, Butt, Sultan, Saeed, & Naz, 2013). Go to our General Information tab to find out more about macronutrients

Finding the healthy choice
Searching for Healthy Foods?
Most people understand that eating healthy foods is a key component of health, but may not know where to begin. A good place to start is the nutrition label on packaged foods. Looking at this can help inform you on the levels of certain micro and macro-nutrients present in your foods. You can learn more about nutrition labels by going to the General Information section of our site in the top navigation bar. If you want to find foods containing certain key nutrients, then a good place to start is the USDA's Food Composition Databases. You can input up to three nutrients at a time and find foods that are high in those key nutrients. If you want to limit sodium or sugar in your diet, this is also a good place to look.
